I visited Chidambaram Temple in December 2012.While circumambulating the outer prakaram I came across a group of young priests who were into deep discussions among themselves. On my request they enthusiastically agreed to pose for a photograph. The picture is posted below:
And I almost never ask anyone to pose for me :(

hello sir hope you are fine :-) ... it's always an experience, coming to your blog.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! I guess there’s one old among them :)
ReplyDeleteGood capture.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the older priest was a teacher. It is interesting to see a rare photo of young priests. Usually I think of all priests as older for some reason.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice picture and a good remembrance of the philosophic heart of the temple you visited.
ReplyDeletewell not everyone is young :P
ReplyDeleteMY visits about a dozen of them to Chidambaram was during the time when atheism was blinding me and all that was tradition was anathema. And that foolishly , I must say really foolishly dissuaded me from visiting that magnificent temple.
ReplyDeleteThe naivete of youth.
Looks like I overlooked the aged priest. Yes he must have been their teacher, guide & mentor !
